Indian Land After School Classes

REGISTRATION:

At Triumph Fight Academy, children will receive homework help from our teachers and instruction in multiple martial art disciplines! A membership for our regular kids’ classes is included in the registration for the after-school program! Children are encouraged to take at least 3 classes per week. The number of spots available in our after-school program is limited to 19 students.

AGE GUIDELINES:

The after-school program is for ages 5 to 13 years old. We provide transportation from Indian Land Elementary and Harrisburg Elementary and it is included in the membership.

PRICING:

We offer weekly or monthly payment options. There is a one-time $50 non-refundable registration fee per child.

Weekly – $100 – 41 weeks (billed every Sunday starting August 15, 2021)        

Monthly – $400 – 10 months (billed on the 1st of each month starting August 1, 2021)

HOURS/DATES OF OPERATION:

The after-school program is Monday – Friday from 2:00 – 6:00pm. Children must be picked up no later than 6:15pm. For the 2021-2022 school year, the after-school program will run from August 16, 2021 – May 27, 2022. (For school closures and holiday schedule, see below).

DAILY SCHEDULE:

  • 2:30 – 3:00pm    Games, unwind from the school day
  • 3:00 – 4:00pm    Homework and Snack
  • 4:00 – 5:00pm    Optional Martial Arts class – Judo (M/W), Wrestling (T/Th), or MMA (F)
  • 5:00 – 6:00pm    Optional Martial Arts class – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (MWF) or Kickboxing (T/Th)

The classes end at 6pm and children must be picked up by 6:15pm!

If the children are not participating in the classes, they can participate in our other after-school activities we will have available. These include quiet time, additional homework help, movies, arts & crafts, etc.

Children may bring a phone or tablet to use during the quiet time if you allow them to. Please have them bring in headphones so they do not disrupt the other students.

UNIFORMS/EQUIPMENT:

The children will need to purchase the uniform/equipment for the selected classes they want to participate in. We would be more than happy to help in the selection process for these items! We do have a uniform package add on that includes a BJJ GI, BJJ belt, Boxing Gloves and Shin Guards.

SNACKS:

Children are encouraged to pack a snack and a non-glass water bottle each day. All items should be clearly labeled with the child’s name. We do have a water fountain that bottles can be refilled. Please do not send gum or candy.

SCHOOL CLOSURES/HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:

Triumph Fight Academy will follow the Lancaster County School district calendar for school closures and holidays. We will be CLOSED on the following days:

  • September 6 – Labor Day
  • November 25 & 26 – Thanksgiving
  • December 23 – January 3 – Christmas/New Year’s Break
  • January 17 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • February 21 – Presidents’ Day
  • April 18-22 – Spring Break

Lancaster County Schools have various days they are closed for half/full days that we will be open. This is included in the registration.

FULL DAY SCHOOL CLOSURES:

We will be open from 8:00am – 6:00pm. Parents must drop off the children. Please provide a packed lunch for the day.

HALF DAY SCHOOL CLOSURES:

We will pick the children up from school as normal. Please provide a packed lunch for the day. We will be open until 6pm.

INCLEMENT WEATHER CLOSURES:

We will operate in guidance of Lancaster County Schools. We will notify parents ASAP if/when there are any changes due to inclement weather.

MEDICAL NEEDS/ALLERGIES:

Triumph Fight Academy is not permitted to administer medication to program participants with the exception of allergy medication if directed in writing by the child’s parent/guardian. In the event of a medical emergency, teachers will administer First Aid, CPR and rescue in the best interest of the child. Parent’s will be contacted if care is administered.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES:

Parents and guardians are required to inform Triumph Fight Academy in writing of any special circumstances which may affect the child’s ability to participate fully and within the guidelines of acceptable behavior, including, but not limited to, any serious behavioral problems or special circumstances regarding psychological, medical, or physical conditions.

BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT/DISCIPLINE POLICY:

Triumph Fight Academy staff will create a fun and safe environment for participants in the program. Praise and positive reinforcement are used as effective methods of behavior management. Children who do not respond to these methods or who are disruptive to others or destructive to property will be dealt with in a professional, positive, and timely manner to correct the behavior. The following procedures will be followed for behavior management. All incident reports will be discussed privately with parents/guardians and a copy of each report will be kept on file.

1. In the event a child’s behavior is a repeated behavior and cannot be corrected by the Triumph Fight Academy staff with a verbal warning or other form of behavior modification, a first incident report will be written to document a correct behavior. A copy of the report will be given to the parent/guardian the same day as the incident.

2. A second incident report will be written if the behavior is repeated or new behavior problems occur with the same child. This report will follow the same process as the first, but a one- or two-day suspension could accompany this report, and no refund will be provided for suspended days. A copy of the report will be given to the parent/guardian the same day as the second incident.

3. A third incident report will be completed using the same process as the first two. The staff will write this report. Staff will provide to the parent/guardian. Incident reports will be discussed privately with a parent/guardian by a Triumph Fight Academy staff member. Dismissal from a program can occur at this time.

NOTE: Immediate dismissal from the program can occur at any time given severe circumstances. Refunds for missed days due to a discipline dismissal will not be granted.
